Frequently Asked Questions

We may have answered your question
before you have even asked it.

We receive a number of questions from our customers about our custom flatpack services. To help save you time, we have answered the most common questions we get asked for you.

How much will delivery cost?

This depends on your location in relation to your nearest Manufacturer. Each Manufacturer has fixed delivery costs for incremental distances from their location. Because there are so many variables, the best way to see how much your project is going to cost to get delivered is to sign up, log in and start a project.

Can I pick up my project from my Manufacturer?

Sure! The best way to save even more money on your goFlatpacks project is to arrange Pick-up with your Manufacturer. All projects are available to be picked up from your Manufacturer for free, or alternatively you can select the Pick-up option if you wish to arrange your own courier service.

Do my goFlatpacks products come in boxes?

To cut the costs for you, our Manufacturer’s don’t pack your products individually in cardboard boxes. Instead, your products will all be packed conveniently onto a pallet and wrapped up. Not only does this save time, but also saves unnecessary material being used. This is a great thing for you, because it means you get your products quicker and at a lower cost, leaving more $$$ in your pocket to go towards the luxuries like soft close hinges, higher quality drawer runners or that appliance you have always wanted. If all my products are packed together, how do I tell which parts are for which product?

Each part is easily identified by a handy label. On the label will show the name of the part, and the number which corresponds to the specific cabinet that part is used in. Have a look at our handy PDF on Understanding Labels Here.

We recommend to unpack your project and group all of the parts for each individual cabinet together. Below is an example of separating all of your parts. If you don’t have a rack, simply stack all your parts for each cabinet in a pile, or lean them gently against a wall.

We have also added in kickboards at around 50mm oversized, so these can easily be cut to create a perfectly finished kicker.

How long do I have to wait until my goFlatpacks products arrive?

We generally allow for an average of 2 weeks from the moment you submit your order to the time your goFlatpacks products are delivered. This can vary depending on the location of your manufacturer and the amount of products in your order. For more info Click Here

Is there anything I need to know about Kitchen Design before I start?

If you aren’t quite sure where to start, head over to the Getting Started page and read through the information on the Plan and Design pages. This is a great introduction to learning everything you need to know before you start to order your own goFlatpacks kitchen. Head to “Getting Started” now to begin your journey.

How can I be sure that my goFlatpacks will fit in my room?

By correctly measuring your space and ensuring that you double check you have entered the correct specifications in when ordering your products. Additionally, by using void gaps ensures that there is a little more wiggle room when installing your cabinets. For more info on void gaps Click Here

Will I be able to tell the difference between my goFlatpacks kitchen and a professional installed Kitchen?

Your goFlatpacks kitchen is cut using high tech CNC machinery and utilises high quality board and hardware – no different to if you were getting your kitchen made by a cabinet maker. With a bit of know-how and use of skill and care, there is no reason why your fully finished and installed kitchen should look anything less than professional.

Am I limited to pre-set cabinet sizes?

You are only limited by your imagination! You are free to have any size cabinet you wish, making the planning and design of your kitchen an easier process. There are a few ‘buts’ however – you are limited to your product being the size of a sheet of board – which is usually 1200mm x 2400mm, and some products have a minimum width and depth, but typically the goFlatpacks system is very flexible.

Is there a Cooling Off or Return Period?

All goFlatpacks products are cut specifically for you according to the dimensions & specifications you enter. Because of this, our Manufacturers cannot give you a refund based on change of mind. Please ensure all your specifications are entered in correctly and double check the Approve Your Quote page prior to completing your order. Please see your assigned Manufacturer’s terms and conditions for more information.

Do I Need a Factory of Tools to assemble these cabinets?

Building a kitchen is not for someone who has absolutely zero experience with any type of building tools. While building a goFlatpacks kitchen doesn’t require a suite of tradies tools, it does require a little knowledge and experience about how to operate a few basic tools. For more info on tools you may require Click Here

Am I supporting Australian jobs by purchasing through goFlatpacks?

When ordering from goFlatpacks, your project is custom made by selected Australian manufactures. Furthermore, as you are assigned to your nearest manufacturer, you are not only just supporting Australian jobs, but also keeping your business local, so it is a win-win.

Can I have two different door colours in my kitchen design?

Absolutely! It’s as easy as selecting edit on the cabinet or panel that you wish to change the door/drawer colour of. Beneath the section where you enter in your product specifications, there is a button that says “Change Colour” – click this and select the new colour. Changing colour through this method updates the current colour selection for the door/drawer for that cabinet only.If for example, you want a two toned kitchen, with your Upper cabinets being a different colour than your bases, simply edit each Upper cabinet to your desired colour.

To update the colour of ALL products in your project, simply click the Colour tab, and select your desired colour, thereby updating your Global Default Colour setting.

How do I attach my kickboards under my cabinets?

There are a couple of ways that you can do this, but we recommend for your kickboards to be drilled vertically through the top of the bottom panel of your cabinet.

Follow these steps to install your kickboard:

  1. Place your kickboard underneath your cabinets, flush up against the legs.
  2. Measure from the front of the cabinet carcase edge to the kickboard.
  3. Add half the thickness of your kickboard material to the above measurement to get your drilling distance. (E.g if your kickboard is 16.5mm thick, you will be adding 8.25mm to the above measurement)
  4. Mark this measurement along a line on the cabinet’s bottom panel.
  5. Remove the kickboard and drill pilot holes for the screws using the line marked out in the previous step. (Drilling two holes per cabinet should be sufficient)
  6. Reinsert the kickboard and screw it into place.
Can I have coloured cabinet carcases?

Our product images identify what part of the cabinet will be coloured.

Anywhere that is white/grey will be supplied with 16.5mm moisture resistant melamine white carcase material.

Any part of the cabinet image that is coloured will be supplied in the colour that you have selected. This is listed on your project overview as the ‘Door/Drawer colour’ and can also be changed by editing each product.

Unfortunately our cabinets with doors do not come with any colour but white. Some cabinet carcases can be ordered in your specified colours, but only those products whose images are completely displayed in the colour you selected.

What materials are the cabinet doors made from?

Our cabinet doors are made using high quality melamine boards available in a wide range of Polytec and Laminex finishes ranging from 16.5mm to 18.5mm in thickness.
